Engineer DevOps - Network Automation

We are looking for a DevOps Network Automation Engineer to redefine how our infrastructure evolves using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and smart automation frameworks.

As a DevOps Engineer within the BeCSE Network Engineering team, you will play a key role in modernizing and automating our network infrastructure across the region. You will be responsible for building scalable, secure, and resilient network solutions, leveraging infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and CI/CD practices to drive efficiency and reliability in both on-premises and cloud environments. You will collaborate closely with engineering, cloud, and security teams, and represent BeCSE (Belgium, Greece, Romania, Serbia, and Czech Republic) in cross-functional groups such as the Architecture SIG and other engineering initiatives.

Key responsibilities of your role:

• Deliver and manage network infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC): design, provision, and manage on-premises and cloud-based networking components using tools like Terraform and Ansible, ensuring scalable and secure deployment processes.
• Automate network operations and deployments: build automation scripts and CI/CD pipelines to enable consistent, repeatable, and auditable network changes across environments.
• Support the integration of network and security services: collaborate with security and platform teams to integrate advanced technologies such as firewalls, ZTNA, and network monitoring into enterprise infrastructure.
• Contribute to network modernization and cloud adoption: support the migration from legacy infrastructure toward software-defined networking and cloud-native solutions, aligned with our cloud-first strategy.
• Collaborate across teams in Agile environments: engage with product and platform teams to understand requirements and deliver network services as part of Agile delivery cycles.

Technologies used in the department: Cloud Networking: Microsoft Azure (VNet, Application Gateway, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute); Automation & IaC: Terraform, Ansible, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps; Scripting: Python, PowerShell, Bash; Firewalls & Security: Fortinet (FortiGate, FortiManager), Zscaler (ZIA/ZPA); Load Balancing & Traffic Management: F5 (LTM, GTM); Software-Defined Networking: Cisco ACI.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Networking, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in DevOps environment
• Network and security platforms experience would be a plus (Fortinet, Zscaler, Cisco, F5)
• Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible) and CI/CD pipelines
• Scripting experience (Python, PowerShell, or Bash)
• Familiarity with cloud networking in Azure or other cloud platforms
• Experience with version control (Git) and collaborative development practices
• Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills
• Team player with excellent communication skills
• Experience in Agile environments is a plus
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
