Financial Controller Real Estate & Construction

We are looking for a Financial Controller Real Estate & Construction (RE&C) to join our Business Services Finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for financial control activities related to real estate and construction, with a primary focus on lease accounting and rent-related financial processes. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, support month-end and year-end closing activities, and contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and controls. Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Control & Reporting - Manage and execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities for the RE&C area
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of financial data and reporting
• Prepare, develop, and improve financial reports, analyses, and models that support business decision-making and external reporting requirements
• Analyze financial results, identify trends, variances, and potential risks, and provide recommendations for corrective actions
• Perform reconciliations, validations, and financial controls to ensure the reliability of financial information
• Support balance sheet and profit & loss reporting related to lease and rental activities

Lease Accounting & Real Estate Finance

• Develop a thorough understanding of real estate and lease-related financial processes
• Support end-to-end financial processes related to property leasing and rental activities
• Ensure compliance with IFRS standards and internal financial policies
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure proper accounting treatment of lease-related transactions
• Contribute to the successful transition and stabilization of Financial Controller activities within the Serbian team

Process Improvement & Collaboration

• Identify opportunities for standardization, automation, and optimization of financial processes
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of financial systems, reporting tools, and control mechanisms
• Work closely with finance teams, business stakeholders, and international colleagues to improve ways of working
• Support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives within the team

Your Profile

Experience:

• Minimum 4-5 years of experience in Financial Control, Accounting, Financial Reporting, Auditing, or a related finance area

Education:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics, or a related field.

Required Skills:

• Strong financial analysis and reporting skills
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and IFRS standards
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience working with financial systems and reporting tools
• Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to work
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proficiency in English
• Strong willingness to learn and continuously improve processes

Nice to Have:

• Experience in Real Estate finance, lease accounting, or property-related financial processes
• Experience working in a shared service center or international environment
• Knowledge of IFRS 16
